TabSet does not plan your workouts.
You already know what you're doing. It counts your sets, times your rest, and remembers what you lifted, so you can stop looking at your wrist.
Free for 14 days. Then 9.99 once. No subscription, ever.
On the wrist
The workout lives on your wrist.
Tap the ring to log a set. Rest starts on its own. The phone stays in your bag, which is the whole point.
-
The lime outer ring is always the clock. Rest counting down, or a timed block running.
-
The orange inner ring is always the count. Sets or rounds banked. Two fixed identities, so you never have to work out which ring is which.
You read the state from the label in the middle, never from a ring changing colour.
- Swipe up for the exercise list, and switch to any exercise mid-set when a machine is busy.
- Swipe down to undo a set.
- Live heart rate, calories, and a heart-rate zone bar along the bottom.
- A complication for the watch face, so a workout starts in one tap.
Three kinds of exercise
More than sets and reps.
A session is rarely all barbell work. Warm-ups, stretching and conditioning are exercises too, so they run on the same rings.
Sets
Sets by reps, with weight. Tap to bank a set, rest starts itself, and the count ticks over on the inner ring.
Duration
One timed block for a warm-up, a stretch or steady cardio. It counts down and finishes itself. Tap to end it early.
Intervals
HIIT work and recovery rounds, with spoken "speed up" and "slow down" cues plus haptics, so you never look down to catch the switch.
Loading the bar
Know what to load.
Two small things that remove most of the arithmetic from a session.
Plate calculator
For barbell lifts, TabSet shows exactly what to load per side. Set the bar weight on the exercise and the breakdown appears on the watch.
Working weight carries forward
What you lifted last session is what comes up next session, already filled in. Progression just happens, with nothing to re-enter.
- Per-exercise rest. Heavy squats rest longer than curls inside the same routine.
- Build routines from a library of roughly 100 built-in exercises, or add your own.
History
Your data is yours.
Everything stays on your device. There is no account to make, because there is no server to make it on.
Weight over time
A per-exercise chart of what you have actually lifted, plus every logged set, editable after the fact.
Time in zone
Heart-rate zone breakdown per session, next to volume, average and max BPM.
Export and import
Your training log as CSV or a JSON backup, and programs as JSON. All of it comes back in.
Apple Health
Finished workouts save to Health, so they close the Move and Exercise rings and show up in Fitness.
The model
Pay once.
Free for 14 days first, with nothing held back. If you keep it, you buy it once and that is the end of it. The exact amount is set by the App Store for your region.
- No subscription. Not monthly, not yearly, not "founder pricing".
- One purchase unlocks everything. There is no higher tier to move up to, because there is no tier.
- No ads and no upsells. Nothing interrupts a rest timer.
- Restores on your other devices with the same Apple Account, at no extra cost.
Honest limits
What TabSet is not.
Some of this will rule TabSet out for you. Better to know now than after the trial.
- Not a workout planner. It will not write your program or tell you what to train today.
- Not a coach. No form tips, no nudges, no "you've got this" notifications.
- Not a social network. No feed, no followers, no leaderboards.
- Not a nutrition app. No macros, no meal plans, no barcode scanner.
- Not a cloud service. No account, no sync across households, no web app. Your phone and watch, and that is all.
- Not free forever. 14 days, then one payment.
If you want an app to decide your training for you, there are good ones. TabSet assumes the deciding is already done.
